LOOKING BACK ON 2025 AT THE DOLPHIN STUDIO
As 2025 comes to an end, I thought it would be fun to do a 2025 calendar wrap-up!
Looking back on the year at The Dolphin Studio, it was truly a record-breaking one. We’re happy to say we made and sold more calendars than ever before. We’ve had to keep printing—and we still aren’t done!
In June, we welcomed a new printing press to the studio. It’s been a big learning curve, but it’s already helping give our bodies a bit of a break and will allow us to make larger prints in the future.
Crispina started working full-time at the studio this year, designing Print Club, cutting the majority of our stencils, and handling so much of the behind-the-scenes upkeep that keeps everything running smoothly.
We also launched Print Club! Our monthly/bimonthly subscription sends a hand-printed print right to your mailbox, and it was such a success that we’re excited to bring it back for 2026.

This was the first year in many that we didn’t hire any seasonal summer help—Kerry and Lily handled the majority of the printing themselves.
We were also able to raise funds for both the MS Foundation and the Ben Paley Scholarship Fund. Thank you so much to everyone who purchased something or donated—it truly means the world to us.

Some behind-the-scenes about our 2025 print!
January was designed by Crispina, inspired by a sheep on her good friend’s farm here in the Berkshires. Here’s a side-by-side image!
February was done by Lucy and Crispina, featuring their own horses.
March was made by Sofia; a design of hanging lightbulbs. Printing was tricky because of all the ink coverage.

April was designed by Violet, who loves her water bottles. This month’s design was a perfect match and super easy to print.
May is a one-color print by Primm, originally from 1997. One-color prints are always a favorite for our team!

June is a vintage print from John ffrench (1973). My personal favorite—so detailed and vibrant.
July was designed by me, Lily, inspired by my 2024 reading obsession (I read over 50 books!) A stack of books seemed perfect.
August was designed by Felicitas. We updated one of her old designs with a new color. The fan is simple, beautiful, and a dream to print.

September is another vintage John ffrench print (1995). The one-line doodle of a running man was simple to print and looks so cool.
October was designed by Crispina, a canoe on the water at sunset. Beautiful and unique, with fun colors to print.
November is a classic Thanksgiving turkey by Primm (1991). Simple, two-color design, always impressive.
December is a playful collaboration between me and my sister Jamie—so different from the other designs this year!

Fun fact:
June and September were originally made in 1973 and 1995 by John ffrench
May and November were originally made for the 1997 and 1991 calendar by Primm ffrench.
The month the printers love printing the most: MAY
The hardest to print: October (that ombre was tricky, but so worth it!)
Any of the highlighted dates on the calendar are family birthdays!
We’d love to hear from you!
What were some of your favorite months of 2025?
And looking ahead—what designs or images would you love to see in 2027? (2026 is done and dusted!)

Hello, I would like to get on the print club wait list. Happy holidays! Becky

Loved December and February. My favorite was June. I love October’s colors and thought the whirlpools were vintage juice glasses. I totally missed seeing the stirrer as a paddle and not a long handled cocktail stirrer. Looking forward to hanging 2026. Thinking of things to do with last years – collage, placemats, frame…would love to hear what others do..

It’s a tough call. But I’d say September and October stand out. Funny thing is that I loved October, but in my eyes it was a vintage cocktail being stirred. I didn’t get canoe at all. I guess that says a lot about me. Crispina can vouch for that per our occasional meetings at The Dreamaway. xoxoao
