TAKE TWO

I mentioned this a few months back, but every year we take a family photo that goes into the insert of our calendar. My grandparents started this tradition so that when their friends and family around the world received the calendar, they could see how we’ve all grown and changed over the years.
Well, getting a good photo of all eight of us—who work different hours and different days—is no easy task. We took one a few months ago, but it just wasn’t it. So we had to run it back on a Saturday morning at 9am (much to everyone’s dismay), and we finally got a good one! Here’s an outtake with me, Jamie, Lucy and Violet!
A WHALE NAMED SALT
While I’ve been in Nantucket with Tom, my family has been spending the week at our Cape house. Fun fact: one thing my family absolutely loves is whales. This week, my mom, dad, and Jamie went on a whale watch out of Provincetown, MA with The Dolphin Fleet tours. Much to their amazement, one of the humpback whales that surfaced was the famous Salt. Salt is over 50 years old and was the very first whale to be identified and named back in the 1970s. She got her name from the white scarring on her dorsal fin that looks like a sprinkle of salt. Over the years, she’s provided researchers with a wealth of information—she’s birthed 13 calves, who have given her 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild! Researchers think she might even be carrying her 14th calf right now. Salt’s presence has been invaluable for understanding humpback migration patterns, calving rates, and overall biology. |
IT IS SWEET CORN SEASON
Our Sweet Corn kitchen towels are a perfect complement for sweet corn season! In honor of that, my boyfriend Tom—who is pretty elite overall, butextra good at coming up with dad jokes wrote a few corny gems you can share around the dinner table. Just wait until you get an earful of these: What does every corny joke contain?A kernel of truth.dWhat’s it called when you tell a corny joke at work?Corn on the job. What do you call a labyrinth made of corn?A maize. What do you become if you tell too many corny jokes?A laughing stalk!

SOME OF THE BEST FLOWERS AROUND
I MOVED!

A big life update from me: my boyfriend Tom and I moved to Boston! Back in April, Tom decided to apply to Northeastern’s music technology program that he’s been interested in for years. He was sure he wouldn't get in and only a few people knew he even applied. Well on June 7th, he found out he was accepted! Just like that, all of our plans changed. We moved a few weeks ago, and for now I’m splitting my time between Boston and the Berkshires so I can finish out our busy season with the team. We’re not exactly “city people,” but luckily his family lives nearby, which makes the transition feel a little easier. Wish us luck as we start this new adventure!
