The Story Behind August 2026
August was designed by me, Lily. I was so happy to finally get to the summer months, and I knew I wanted this design to have some type of beach theme. Every year, my family goes to the Cape, and I wanted to capture the beach setup and all the little traditions we have each summer.
This July, we had amazing weather down at the Cape and were able to get to the beach nearly every day. My sister and I went boogie boarding, took long walks along the beach collecting rocks and shells, and got ice cream pretty much every night.
Our family stays at our house in Eastham, but we also visit beaches in Wellfleet, Brewster, and Orleans. One of our favorite things to do is go to the bay at low tide and walk as far out as we can. This time, we got to the beach at just the right time and were able to walk more than a mile out to some of the oyster traps. I included a few photos from that day below.

When I was color testing this month, I couldn't find a color combination I loved until I decided on the goldish yellow. Once I found that color, I was able to choose the final pink from there. If I remember correctly, printing the second color was difficult because the registration was very tight, and we were having trouble with the pink flooding.
Overall, this design was meant to make you feel happy and excited about the rest of summer. And if you weren't able to make it to the beach this year, I hope this design brought a little bit of the beach to you!
