The Story Behind August 2025

Our August design was created by Felicitas.

If you don’t know about Felicitas, she is the older sister of Crispina and Sofia (the owners). Sadly, Felicitas has MS and has been living in a nursing home for over 20 years. Every year, we choose a month based on artwork she created before she lost the ability to move her hands.

This August design comes all the way from March 1986! It’s one of my favorite pieces she’s made, and we’ve been wanting to bring it back for a while. We decided to brighten the colors slightly to give it a summery vibe, instead of the original blue. The design is simple, yet beautiful, and we think it’s perfect for August.

It was also a great month to print because of its simplicity and clean registration. I remember that out of all the months in 2025, this one had the fewest printing issues—and every time we had to print more no one seemed to complain!

Another memorable moment was when, while I was printing, the screen suddenly split in half—something I’ve never experienced in my 11 years of printing. It was so unusual that I had to take a selfie with the screen to document this strange event.
