The story behind the design for April 2026

April was designed by me, Sofia, an image that brings happiness to me each time I look at the calendar.  I hope that the same happiness is brought to those of you who have a Dolphin Studio calendar. 

When I began thinking of what I should create for my yearly design for the calendar, flowers were one of the immediate thoughts that came into my mind.  I live in Stockbridge Massachusetts where we endure quite cold, snowy and blustery winters.  April is the month where the spring flowers emerge from the not so long ago frozen earth.  The first to pop up are snowdrops followed by hyacinth and daffodils.  There is a promise that more blooms will follow as the days begin to get warmer and warmer. 

I have always loved flowers and to have a vase full of beautiful blooms on our dining room table to give the sense of life, color and a bit of cheer to those who pass through the room.  Because of this I thought that this would be a wonderful idea to capture that feeling in the calendar.  There doesn’t need to be a vase full of real flowers when a calendar design can replace the real thing for a month.
